Yes, it's done now. The fully remade site including the engine that was
rewritten from scratch, was launched. It's just been released in a
voyage through the deep waters of Internet. Like it usually happens to
me, after the idea to remake everything came to my mind last Sunday, two
nights appeared to be lost. I was sitting in front of my home computer
coding. I feel it's incredibly difficult to sleep knowing that a good
idea is standing still when it can go on much faster. One of my
favourite sayings is "will catch some sleep in the other world".
I'd been thinking for a long time to rewrite the site. The point is that
since the moment I made the first variant a lot of time has passed. The
reality around me has changed, and myself I changed too. Some of my
interests went away, but some filled the space that eliberated. No, I
don't program less these days. At the other hand, obviously, I started
writing much more, thus the "news" section suffered a metamorphosis into
real full-scale weekly notes by their only author. And the nice digital
camera toy I bought recently just made me write an advanced engine for a
site with a flexible shell for photographs.
Another thing I noticed was that in spite that the number of software I
wrote grew, the pages about them didn't differ a lot one from another.
The new engine doesn't care, it just takes programs' details from its
configuration even not knowing the amount of them, so new ones can be
added easily without a need to add another HTML page or something.
Also the personal biography exhibitionism hanging on the site from the
university times was thrown away. Enough. It would better to be
published somewhere in a book ;)
Finally, the site now is really multi-lingual. It's possible to add more
supported languages easily. The most interesting feature about it are
comments for photos in several languages. The Gallery application
cannot do it till now, thus it was punished and thrown away. The
internationalization stuff was made also because I'm thinking of adding
more languages. It feels like soon one of famous Romanian magazines
about computers will start publishing a serie of publications by yours
truly, and it would be nice to meet such an even having a working
Romanian translation of the site. At the other hand, it will be damn
difficult to translate every propaganda note into the two languages
after it's initially written in Russian. Maybe, there is someone to
assist me?
